What is the Way2Go App pilot?

The Way2Go App pilot is a free to join rewards programme designed to help you get active, earn rewards and help you to find a smarter, healthier as well as greener ways to commute. The pilot will run from Wednesday 1st September until Friday 31st December 2021.

How has the Way2Go App been funded?

The Way2Go App has been funded by Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) and built by BetterPoints Ltd, who have over ten years' experience delivering successful behaviour change and rewards programmes on their award-winning app and platform.

Why should I take part?

Taking part in this pilot will boost your morale and activity levels, which will contribute to your overall health and wellbeing. The aim is to help you discover a new Way2Go to the airport in order to help you to become happier, healthier and wealthier at the same time. Even if there isn't another Way2Go for you and you continue to drive to the site, you can still earn rewards and win prizes, and the (secure and anonymised) data you share through the app will help to make the site more accessible for everyone.

How can I get involved?

Check out the Getting Started page here or, in a nutshell:

  • Download the free Way2Go app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Register on the app.
  • Allow automatic tracking - the app will then pick up when you’re on the move.
  • Complete the short baseline survey to earn 500 points and unlock the rest of the rewards.

How can I earn points or win a prize?

You can earn points and win prizes simply for downloading the app and allowing it to track your journeys in the background on your phone. There are also lots of prizes and rewards for a variety of activities, details of which can be found on the Rewards page here

What is the difference between Way2Go Points and Tickets?

Way2Go Points can be earned by tracking your trips to the site and undertaking a variety of other activities, such as attending webinars, responding to surveys or being a Bike Buddy - over time they will add up. Your Points balance appears in the menu on the left of the app. Once you’ve collected enough Points you can redeem them against vouchers in the catalogue on the app or donate them to charity. 1,000 Points is worth £1.

Tickets are prize draw entries earned for doing a specific activity. The Tickets automatically enter you into our weekly or monthly prize draws. The more tickets you earn, the more chance you have of winning. Prizes can include pots of Way2Go Points and specific things such as bike lights.

What can I spend my Points on?

You can give your Points to your favourite charity by tapping Donate in the app, or check out our list of local and national vouchers by tapping Redeem.
